Jimi Bell is a name that resonates with guitar enthusiasts and rock music aficionados alike. Known for his extraordinary talent and versatility, Bell has carved out a remarkable career that spans several decades and includes collaborations with some of the biggest names in the music industry.

Born on January 31, 1958, in Manchester, Connecticut, Jimi Bell’s journey into the world of music began at a young age. Influenced by legendary guitarists like Johnny Winter, Ritchie Blackmore, and Al DiMeola, Bell developed a unique style that blends technical prowess with emotional depth.

Bell’s career began in the 1980s when he formed the metal band Joined Forces. The band gained significant attention and even toured with Joan Jett, appearing in the 1987 film “Light of Day” alongside Michael J. Fox. Although he narrowly missed out on becoming Ozzy Osbourne’s guitarist, Bell’s talent did not go unnoticed. He joined the Geezer Butler Band, contributing to the music of Black Sabbath’s “Dehumanizer” album².

In 2005, Bell joined the hard rock band House of Lords, where he has been a driving force ever since. The band has released numerous albums, with Bell’s guitar work being a standout feature². In 2019, he became the lead guitarist for the iconic band Autograph, known for their 1980s hit “Turn up the Radio”¹.

Bell’s contributions to music have not gone unrecognized. He was inducted into the New England Music Hall of Fame in 2020 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from All That Shreds magazine in 2018³. His innovative spirit is also evident in his invention of the “Shred Neck,” a practice device for guitar and bass players

Beyond his work with bands, Bell is a sought-after studio musician, having worked with ESPN, WWE, and NASCAR. He is/has been an official endorser for several major music industry brands, including Charvel Guitars, Ovation Guitars, and Marshall Amps.

Jimi Bell’s career is a testament to his incredible talent, hard work, and passion for music. Whether shredding on stage with House of Lords or laying down tracks in the studio, Bell’s guitar work continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world. His legacy as a guitarist, songwriter, and inventor is firmly cemented, making him a true icon in the world of rock music.

  1. I have been watching Jimi Bell and his amazing guitar work since his days in the band Joined Forces! I am lucky to have seen him with House of Lords , Autograph and will see him in a local band a couple of times this month! Always a pleasure to hear Jimi and his talented band mates!
