Catching up with Mike Orlando a couple of weeks ago was an interview three years in the making. I was supposed to interview Mike when Adrenaline Mob was coming to Orlando back in July of 2017. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen due to the accident that killed manager Janet Rains and bassist David Zablidowsky on that July 2017 day.
There hasn’t been much if any, press about that status of the wrongful death lawsuits filed against the parties responsible for this horrific accident. I contacted Ed Ciarimboli, who’s one of the Attorneys representing Janet Rains estate and her mother, Lucille Joyner. Ed was gracious enough to give me an update on where everything stands.
All parties involved have filed lawsuits against BULOVA TECHNOLOGIES GROUP, INC,
TWISS TRANSPORT, INC; BT-TWISS TRANSPORT, LLC; DISNEY WORLDWIDE
SERVICES, INC; WALT DISNEY PARKS AND RESORTS, U.S., INC. d/b/a WALT
DISNEY WORLD CO., and ROBERT EDWARD HAINES, in Pinellas County, Florida.
Robert Haines, the driver of the truck that caused the accident, died last July according to Attorney Ciarimboli for unknown reasons.
Twiss Transport filed for Bankruptcy do to the pending lawsuits. There Bankruptcy is still pending in Florida Middle District Court.
Ciarimboli Says that pending suits have been delayed due to the COVID-19 closing Floria courts, and they have several pending motions to get the proceedings moving forward. He doesn’t anticipate this being settled until late next year at the earliest.
Hopefully, for the deceased and injured victims that there can be some type of justice served for this horrific tragedy.
