There has been an explosion of female guitarists utilizing social media to share thirty-second clips of them playing a solo from a popular song to where everyone is doing it now.
If you dig through the nostalgia of some of these copycats, you’ll find some awesome, top-tier female guitarists. While there are too many to list, here’s a list of five of our staffs’ favorites.
Sophie Lloyd
Sophie Lloyd has come a long way with her social media influence. Sophie releases videos of her shred version of different songs. She also has released a couple of original solo albums that are worth listening to. Sophie will be going into the studio in May to record her forthcoming solo album.
Emily Hastings
Emily Hastings is another one that mixes covers with her original music. Emily is no-nonsense when it comes to her playing. She has a great tone. We’re expecting Emily’s forthcoming solo album this summer.
Courtney Cox
The Iron Maidens shredder has been working on her upcoming solos album while on hiatus with the lady Maidens. Not much needs to be said about CC other than she’s a monster on the guitar.
Juno Devere
Juno is a relatively newcomer to people on social media but she’s been playing for quite some time
This Joe Stump taught shredder has a promising future at Berklee.
Ravyn Bedard
Canadien shredder Rayvn Bernard is known for her shredding licks on her Jackson Randy Rhoads Guitar. Rayvn also has original music out that’s just as good as her covers.
