PLUSH is an all-female rock band with a mission to bring rock back to the forefront of the music industry. PLUSH is composed of four talented women, under 21, whose accomplishments and talent eclipse their age. This female rock force is fronted by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Moriah Formica. Drummer Brooke Colucci, guitarist Bella Perron, and bassist Ashley Suppa round out the lineup.
Moriah skyrocketed to national recognition when she auditioned for NBC’s “The Voice” at 16. She became one of the youngest competitors in the show’s history to turn all four judge’s chairs and the only NBC’s The Voice contestant to get all four chairs performing a rock-based song. Her performance of Heart’s “Crazy on You” garnered viral fame and lauded the 4’11” star as a “pint-sized powerhouse” by judge and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine. Miley Cyrus referred to as a “Rock Goddess”. Moriah narrowly missed out on a spot in the top 12, being eliminated before fans had a chance to vote.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she’s performed weekly covers submitted by fans. Two of those have over 1 million views, without any paid promotion or sponsorship. Several other videos have organically reached the six-figure mark. Many in the industry have likened her to female rock legends Ann Wilson, Pat Benatar, and Amy Lee.
Brooke Colucci joins PLUSH as its drummer. Brooke, known by her moniker Rock Angel, collaborated with Moriah on a cover of “Barracuda” by Heart, which has eclipsed 7 million views on the girls’ social media pages. It has garnered several positive reactions on Facebook, YouTube, and on forums like Reddit, Digg, and Ebaumsworld. Brooke has several viral videos of her own as well. Her cover of “Forty-Six and Two” by Tool earned her over 14 million views. She’s been a guest on iHeart Radio and has been featured in Modern Drummer and Drum Magazine. Brooke was also featured as one of Grammy.com’s seven female YouTube drummers you must know. Brooke’s talent has even earned a nod from John Lennon’s official Facebook page.
Lead guitarist Bella Perron is a freshman at Berklee College of Music and a guitar virtuoso. Bella adds to the band’s ferocious melodies with amazing backing vocals and no holds barred brand of uncompromising rock.
Bassist Ashley Suppa, hailed as the “female version of Cliff Burton”, adds an undeniable bass undertow that must be seen as well as heard to be believed. Coming from a very talented musical family, Ashley’s talent was quickly noticed by Ace Frehley (Kiss), who requested her skills on backing vocals for his “Anomaly” solo album.
The mission of PLUSH is to bring the heart of rock back to the mainstream with a new fresh spin on the sounds you already love. PLUSH hopes to inspire young women everywhere to follow their dreams, regardless of whatever challenges may lie in the way.
