Guitar legend Neal Schon and Journey rocked a near-sell-out crowd in Jacksonville, Florida this past Sunday. If anyone thinks rock is dead, they need to look at the arenas Neal and the band are filling up nightly.
Arnell, Deen, and the band were on fire. The night absolutely goes to Neal and his playing. Perfect tone, picking, timing, I could sit here and dissect and bore you to tears with Neal’s perfection of playing guitar. This is why Neal is one of the best players past, present, and future.
Monday was Neal’s birthday and this was our tribute
Neal and the guys played all of Journey’s hits and did one song from their current album, which I’m frankly disappointed is not getting more publicity as it is a good record with Arnel on vocals.
I was hoping Gregg Rolie was going to make a surprise appearance. Unfortunately, it was Texas only. I’m hoping Neal will do Journey Through Time when the regular band has a break.
Definitely catch this tour folks Hendrix, Beck, EVH and other of our guitar heroes have passed. Guess what? Neal is still around shredding away and having the time of his life with Mrs. Schon by his side.
ToTo opened the show and Luke was on fire as always.
